Data Day Texas 2013
Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM (CDT)
Austin, United States
Visit the Data Day Texas Website for complete details
The first Data Day Austin, held almost 2 years ago, sold out weeks before the event. Because so many folks came to join us from Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston, this time we decided to simply call the event Data Day Texas.
DataDayAustin was Hadoop/NoSQL centric. At Data Day Texas, anything is fair game: Data Science, BI, Analytics, Search, Data Mining, Machine Learning, SQL, NoSQL, NewSQL, Collective Intelligence, Open Data, Kaggle, Spark, Shark, and the ever-elusive Real-Time.
Unlike the first conference, which drew from the experts in our local community, we have speakers coming from all over the country to join us. Check our speakers page to see who we've already announced. We have room for a few more. Someone that you'd like to see? Have a talk you'd like to present? a workshop you'd like to lead? Check out our submissions page.
To determine what everyone wanted to see at Data Day Texas, six months ago we began asking previous attendees: What do you want to see?. The agenda is almost entirely based on community input. We'll be publishing the agenda schedule this week.. Send us a note.
Some of the Highlights
Here are some of the highlights for this year's Data Day Texas:
Several of our speakers and sponsors will be hosting office hours on site. This is your opportunity to learn more about various topics and technologies, and maybe snag some free consulting.
We'll be hosting a job fair for Data Professionals in the commons room. On hand will be companies from not only Austin, but the SF Bay Area and other metros as well.
As part of our Hadoop track, Amandeep Khurana of Cloudera, the author of HBase in Action, will be giving a workshop on HBase.
Introduction to Visualization/Analytics workshop
Tableau Software, our sponsor for the Visualization track, will be hosting a beginning Visualization workshop, as well as a separate workshop for more advanced users.
